Minntac Vase
The decoration on this hand-built vase was completely random. There is no glaze on the piece; the colors (various shades of red, white and a touch of yellow) were created by the interplay of heat with an iron solution which was sprayed onto the piece before firing. While pieces fired in this manner are usually still porous, the interior of this vase has been coated with a waterproof sealer so it may be used for fresh as well as dried flowers.
