Bailey Pens

$39.00

The color on these pens was applied to the wood blanks before they were turned so that only a portion of the dye seeped through to the interiors. Each piece of wood absorbed the color differently. Some of the pens have a gentle curve and others are straight. Some have a soft sheen and others a high gloss. With a slim profile, the pens feature a twist mechanism and come with a black ink cartridge.

Length: 5-1/4”
Diameter: 3/8”

Birds play a significant role in maintaining life on earth. They participate in the food chain, disseminate seeds and protect useful crops against insect damage. Protecting birds was Florence Merriam Bailey’s lifelong passion, starting in college when she campaigned against the killing of birds for millinery use. She studied bird habitats, life cycles and behaviors and wrote numerous books introducing readers to the joys of birdwatching. She was convinced that if people observed birds, they would work for their protection.
