Kahumbu Candle Holder

$95.00

This candle holder draws to mind the giraffes of the grasslands of Africa. After turning, the base was textured and painted, then an iridescent wax was lightly applied to the brown areas to add even more depth. The top portion has a painted exterior to match the base, while the interior shows the natural wood. Perfect for a 3” pillar candle, the piece could also be used as an elevated bowl.

Height: 11”
Top Diameter: 4-3/8”
Bottom Diameter: 2-7/8”

Animals in Kenya which have not been killed by poachers or cattle-herders are being wiped out by construction and overgrazed, shrinking rangelands. Kenyan conservationist Paula Kahumbu is working to get her fellow citizens to care about the the country’s wildlife. In her popular television show, Wildlife Warriors, she travels to wild places and meets Kenyans working to save endangered animals.
